Reading Mainline. 1994-2000
Tim was a share holder, part time driver and active member in setting up Reading Mainline (The Greater Reading Omnibus Company Ltd).
The buses were all ex London Transport AEC Routemasters, sauced from all over the country including Scotland, 45 in total.
Running in direct competition with Reading Transport, who eventually bought them out in 1998.
At least 12 of these buses have now gone back to run in daily use on the streets of London, and have been refurbished.
A number have gone abroad, some have been preserved, and a few have been scrapped.
The former Managing Director for Reading Mainline, Mr Mike Russell, runs a couple of these buses in his other business, Reading Heritage Travel, which are available for private hire. They have proved very popular with Weadings.
